6. The Best Reviewed Drum Throne on the Internet – The ROC-N-SOC Nitro Shock Absorber Drum Throne
Drumming is a hugely physical activity which can really take a toll on the body. It’s so important to have an ergonomically designed and supportive seat (throne). This ROC-N-SOC Throne is the answer. Don’t take it from us, take it from the thousands of pro drummers who swear by it! Yes, it’s a little more money than others, but just like a mattress – your little drummer boy or girl will spend HOURS and HOURS sitting on it – so if you think about it on a per hour basis – it’s a no-brainer! Check out prices and specs here.
This kit has been described as “magical”, “incredible” and “huge fun” by those who have experienced it. The benefit to a drummer is that they are virtually silent and totally portable. Playing drums WITHOUT a drum kit! Take a look here to find out a little more. It’s a WOW-level gift that really shows you care (perhaps it may even save your drummer’s family and loved ones from hearing damage)!
So the above are very carefully considered gifts to give the drummer in your life. We took into account that it’s sometimes very challenging to buy a gift for someone who is passionate about their chosen pursuit. Of course, they are going to know far more than you are about it and that makes buying gifts hugely difficult. What happens then is…
a) You decide to avoid buying something to do with drumming, because what happens if they have it already or don’t like it???
b) You get them a gift voucher, which is often received as an impersonal, last minute and somewhat “easy way out” gift, or
c) You get them something they are not particularly interested in – which is even worse than the above!
SO, we’ve asked around and here is a list of the worst, more thoughtless, reckless, useless and unwelcome gifts drummers say they have been given. Don’t panic, drummers aren’t at all ungrateful little swines – we insisted they tell us in confidence!
The Top 5 WORST Gifts for Drummers Ever!
1. Any type of book, magazine or CD/DVD about drumming or drummers.
“Just because I am a drummer, doesn’t mean I like Ringo Starr from the Beatles! Can’t stand him, but Aunty Joan bought me his entire collection!”
“Phil Collins is a great drummer, but not really in my era! I hadn’t really even heard his music before.”
“Really sorry, but I got a “Beginner’s Guide To Drumming” DVD from my Dad. I’ve been playing for 12 years now!”
2. Any specific brand of drum kit or accessory
“Look, I’m really grateful for the thought but I don’t need any more cymbals that don’t fit or that are the wrong type”
“I know exactly what I need, and getting given accessories that don’t fit my kit is just a waste”
3. The wrong type of drums
“Such a shame – my mother in law bought me a native American drum to add to my collection. I play heavy metal. I’ll just never use it!”
“They thought I would need some cases to carry around my gear because I complained about my back – but bought the wrong brand and size!”
“I got given 10 pairs of the cheapest drumsticks you can buy. They broke within 5 gigs…”
If you stick to the list at the top of the page, you’ll be fine. Drummer’s and musos in general truly appreciate it when people take the time to show their support and really think about a gift that will surprise and delight them. We hope we’ve given you some food for thought and that the drummer in your life is over the moon when you present them with their prezzie!
